Funding — NDIS

Psychosocial support for NDIS participants

We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants to support psychosocial wellbeing, emotional regulation, and practical strategies for daily functioning and quality of life.

Mental health support under the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) recognises that psychosocial disability — disability arising from a mental health condition — can significantly affect a person's capacity to participate in everyday life. For eligible participants, the NDIS funds supports that help build independence, improve functioning, and enhance quality of life.

At Nautical Minds Fraser Coast, we provide therapeutic support to NDIS participants whose plans include funding for improved daily living or improved health and wellbeing. Our services are personalised, outcome-focused, and delivered in a way that respects each participant's goals, preferences, and pace.

Who we work with

We currently accept self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you are agency-managed, please contact us to discuss your situation — we will do our best to assist or point you in the right direction.

Self-managed

You manage your own NDIS funds and pay providers directly. We invoice you at the agreed rate and you claim reimbursement from the NDIS.

Plan-managed

A plan manager handles your NDIS funds on your behalf. We invoice your plan manager directly — there is no out-of-pocket cost for you.

What we offer

Psychosocial support

Therapeutic support focused on building the skills and strategies needed to manage the psychological impacts of disability and improve daily functioning.

Emotional regulation

Practical, evidence-based approaches to understanding and managing emotions — including distress tolerance, grounding, and nervous system regulation.

Trauma-informed therapy

For participants whose psychosocial disability involves trauma, we offer trauma-focused approaches delivered at a pace that respects the nervous system.

Goal-focused sessions

Sessions are structured around your NDIS goals and what matters most to you — not a generic treatment protocol.

Progress reporting

We provide progress reports as required by your plan manager or the NDIS, documenting outcomes and informing future planning.

Flexible delivery

Sessions are available in person at our Maryborough practice or via telehealth, depending on your needs and preferences.

How to get started

01

Check your plan

Review your NDIS plan to confirm you have funding under Improved Daily Living (Support Category 15) or Improved Health and Wellbeing (Support Category 17). If you are unsure, your plan manager or support coordinator can help.

02

Contact us

Book online, call or email Nautical Minds Fraser Coast to arrange an initial appointment. Let us know whether you are self-managed or plan-managed so we can discuss your goals and confirm we are a good fit.

03

Complete a service agreement

We will prepare a service agreement that outlines the supports we will provide, the agreed rate, and how sessions will be delivered. This is a standard NDIS requirement.

04

Begin your support

Once the service agreement is in place, we will work with you to develop a support plan aligned with your NDIS goals. Sessions are billed to your plan manager or invoiced to you directly.

Pricing and rates

Our NDIS services are priced in line with the NDIS Price Guide for psychological and therapeutic supports. The current rate for therapeutic support is available on request and will be clearly outlined in your service agreement.

There is no gap payment for plan-managed participants. Self-managed participants pay at the agreed rate and claim reimbursement from the NDIS directly.

Ready to get started?

If you are an NDIS participant looking for psychosocial support, we would be glad to hear from you. You are welcome to call, email, or book online.
